IDW has announced that Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four World’s Greatest Artist’s Edition will be arriving in shops in July. At 168 pages and 15” x 22” in size, the book reflects the actual size of Kirby’s art. The Artist’s Edition will contain Issue #33 (“Side-by-Side With the Sub-Mariner”), #45 (“Among Us Hide… the Inhumans!”), #47 (“Beware the Hidden Land!”), and #60 (“The Peril and the Power!”).
Fans have been hopeful for some time that another FF Artist Edition would eventually hit the market and it’s hard to think of a more deserving artist than Kirby to be honored in this way, especially in his centennial year. This book follows on from an earlier Artist’s Edition that contained Fantastic Four issues 71, 82, 83, 84, Annual 6.
Included in the edition will be what IDW are calling “the greatest Jack Kirby gallery of art ever”, featuring 22 Kirby Fantastic Four covers as well as pin-ups, splashes, and interior pages from issues as far back as Fantastic Four #3.
Look out for this massive, art-packed tome in July from IDW.
