Dark Horse Announces The Art Of Over The Garden Wall Ahead Of ECCC

In the run up to Emerald City Comic Con happening from March 2nd through March 5th this week in Seattle, Washington, Dark Horse has announced a new art book arriving on September 13th, 2017. The Art of Over the Garden Wall, will be “a comprehensive look at the production and development art behind the award-winning animated television miniseries Over the Garden Wall, featuring never-before-seen sketches from creator Patrick McHale and written by Paste magazine’s Sean Edgar“.

For those who are new to the series, Over the Garden Wall  is an Emmy Award-winning animated series on the Cartoon Network which follows two half brothers who travel across a strange forest in order to find their way home, having unusual experiences along the way. Famously, the show features the voices of Elijah Wood and Christopher Lloyd.

Creator Patrick McHale has dug out all his sketchbooks and files to bring together “bits and pieces from the show’s development” for this art book. There will be drawings, paintings, anecdotes, and unseen art, he teases. The book will also contain material connected to the short film that served as the series pilot, interviews, commentary, and more.
