Howard Chaykin’s The Divided States Of Hysteria Will Be Shaking Things Up In June

In June, creator Howard Chaykin (American Flagg!, Black Kiss, Satellite Sam) will be bringing us a new series that sets out to be a “dystopic suspense story” about the downfall of a world government. In a plot that’s all-too-relevant  to our times, “a deeply troubled America is barely beginning to recover from a profound national trauma, only to be further destabilized by a worst-case terrorist attack”, according to the book’s publisher, Image. The first issue of The Divided States of Hysteria arrives in June.

If you read comics, you are probably already aware that various works by Howard Chaykin have been banned before, including Black Kiss in the UK and Canada. Chaykin says he’s setting his sights on the same reaction from his homeland, the USA, this time. The teaser for the comic reads:
An America sundered.
An America enraged.
An America terrified.
An America shattered by greed and racism, violence and fear, nihilism and tragedy…
…and that’s when everything really goes to hell.

Described as a “powerful and profoundly unsettling new series echoing today’s political turmoil and the restlessness of a jaded society”, The Divided States of Hysteria is bound to leave its mark.

Set your clocks for Wednesday, June 7th to encounter this new series.

Order with (Diamond Code APR170684) and the final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, May 15th.
