Following on from the best-selling saga Dragon Ball, the sequel Dragon Ball Super will arrive on May 2nd from Viz Media.

The new series will be published in digital and print editions under the company’s Shonen Jump imprint. This martial arts adventure story is written by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama drawn by manga illustrator Toyotarou.

The book is rated “T” for teens and will launch in digital on the same day as print publication via VIZ.com and the VIZ Manga App. Continuing chapters of the series are also available for free reading on VIZ.com/ShonenJump/chapters/all.

In this new book, we see Goku getting a little bored after his victories, but challenged, of course, by new threats:

Ever since Goku became Earth’s greatest hero and gathered the seven Dragon Balls to defeat the evil Boo, his life on Earth has grown a little dull. But new threats loom overhead, and Goku and his friends will have to defend the planet once again in this continuation of Akira Toriyama’s best-selling series, DRAGON BALL!

Look out on May 2nd for Dragon Ball Super, and continue the adventure with Goku and his friends.
