According to Entertainment Weekly, independent entertainment studio IM Global and independent U.K. games developer and publisher Rebellion have made a deal to create a live-action TV show called Judge Dredd: Mega City One. The show will reputedly feature several judges, be set in the 22nd century, and be located on the East Coast of the USA.

Producers of the new show have been listed as IM Global Television president Mark Stern, who developed Battlestar Galactica, Helix, and Defiance at Syfy; IM Global Television CEO Stuart Ford; and the owners of Rebellion, Jason and Chris Kingsley, who along with Ford were also executive producers of the well received 2012 Dredd film.

No doubt many fans will look forward to hearing more about this development.
