The Gotham Spring Season titled “Heroes Rise” has been taking us down some very interesting paths in the development of both heroes and villains in the city, and those in between. I mean, what is Gordon now that he’s taking up a place in the Court of Owls, even if he thinks he has good reasons? Isn’t he edging into the darkness himself? And yet he’s one of the characters seeking illumination in this week’s episode.
We have the real Bruce Wayne being trained in some kind of esoteric art far from his home while the situation in Gotham becomes even more of a pressure cooker. And of course, the return of the Penguin soon to go public, as well as the furor rising between various underworld groups.
But the biggest surprise of last week’s episode, 3. 17, is addressed in the official description for this week’s episode, even if it’s not shown in our trailer.
The synopsis reads:
Gordon discovers the weapon the Court of Owls will use to destroy Gotham, which leads him on a dangerous path as he tracks it down. Meanwhile, Kathryn (guest star Leslie Hendrix) and Temple Shaman (guest star Raymond J. Barry) reveal their next move to Bruce, and Ivy comes to Selina’s aid in the all-new “Heroes Rise: Light The Wick” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, May 15th on FOX.
We saw Selina in a very dangerous situation, and it was unclear how she might recover from it, in episode 3.17 and this description suggests that just as Ivy brought Penguin back from the brink of a terrible injury, Ivy might be able to help Selina, too, further ushering in her role as –Catwoman perhaps?
At any rate, here’s our trailer for episode 3.18, airing on Monday, May 15th, on Fox, which just keeps building the tension for “Heroes Rise”:
