by Staff

This Wednesday, on May 17th, the second issue of the prestige-format miniseries Britannia: We Who Are About To Die, arrives from Valiant. Written by Peter Milligan and illustrated by Juan Jose Ryp with colors by Frankie D’Armata, the series follows on from Britannia’s first run which was a critical and fan success set during the days of the Roman Empire.

Focusing on an original “detective”, Antonius, who tries to unravels the secrets and mysteries surrounding Rome and its provinces, this series is set in a Rome that’s falling apart under the sudden pressures of blood-curdling visions of vengeance from the gods and the rise of a female gladiatrix who has won over popular support. Now Antonius and gladiatrix Achillia are trying to solve the mystery behind these grim hauntings that may indeed be a “curse” before its too late.
