Bryan Talbot’s “anthropomorphic steampunk detective thriller” is arriving in the USA in its next and final volume in Grandville: Force Majeure from Dark Horse. The Eisner and Hugo nominated series began in 2009 with Grandville, followed by 2010’s Grandville: Mon Amour, 2012’s Grandville: Bête Noire, and 2014’s Grandville: Noël.
In Grandville: Force Majeure, Detective Inspector LeBrock finds himself wanted for murder and on the run from “gangland overlord” Tiberius Koenig. LeBrock is ready to battle against insurmountable odds, and this British Badger has to rely on his deductive skills and tenacity in order to have a chance at survival.
Bryan and Mary Talbot’s book The Red Virgin and the Vision of Utopia was also nominated for a United States National Cartoonist’s Society Reuben Award. The winners will be announced on May 27th at the NCS Reuben Awards dinner in Portland, Oregon.
The Grandville: Force Majeure hardcover will go on sale November 1, 2017, and retails for $24.99 at 176-pages.
