Titan Comics Bring Back Kirby’s ‘Fighting American’ This Fall

by Oliver MacNamee

Titan Comics have a little secret to share with you all: Joe Simon and Jack Kirby’s Fighting American will be finding a new home here in good old Blighty, of all places, and coming attcha this October. Here’s a rather cunning teaser image they’ve shared over on Twitter, especially for your 4th of July celebrations, America:

Love it!

Fighting American was first published in 1954, battling the growing threat of ‘Commies’ rather than the Nazi Ratzis that Fighting American’s more famous brother-in-arms, Captain America.

“With Fighting American, they brought a tongue-in-cheek irreverence to the world of two-fisted action and its mix of outlandish, satirical humor went on to establish Fighting American as a true American hero.

Hard times require hard heroes and in Titan Comics’ all-new series, written by Gordon Rennie (2000AD, Starship Troopers) with artwork by Duke Mighten (Judge Dredd), the comic picks up immediately after Simon and Kirby’s legendary 1954 series…”

To be fair, it wouldn’t be the first time us Brits showed you how it was done, now would it?

Hope you had a happy Independence Day, America!
