The Tick Trailer Reveals A Hero’s Spirit And Arthur’s Anxiety

by Erik Amaya

The Tick trailer is here!

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have our first look at the new Tick series. Peter Serafinowicz stars as the titular character as he comes to The City to help Arthur (Griffin Newman) become a hero and solve a decades old mystery. His suit has received an upgrade since last year’s pilot. And, as seen in the trailer, The Tick is unsure what he can actually do. But as his narration reveals, the essential parts of the character remain: his need to do good and his personality disorder.

Not that this any of this can calm Arthur’s fears. As glimpsed in the footage, he’s still the anxious accountant seen in the pilot. Even his moth suit seems to disagree with him. One hopes with the Tick’s guidance that Arthur can become a hero and defeat the secret scourge of the City.

The site also notes that the first season of the The Tick will be slit into two six-part chunks, which may come as a disappointment to some die-hard fans ready to binge and learn every Tick monologue the new series has to offer. For now, though, part one of The Tick debuts August 25th on Amazon.
