Steve Skroce’s Comedic Fantasy Series Maestros Begins In October From Image Comics

by James Ferguson

Comics and storyboard artist Steve Skroce is returning to Image Comics this October with Maestros, a new fantastical action-comedy series. Skroce will be writing and illustrating the comic, which picks up when the Maestro and his entire royal family has been murdered.

His banished son from Earth will inherit both the Wizard King’s throne as well as a spell that turns its user into GOD. That definitely beats an old stamp collection in the will. Enemies are piling up and now this Orlando-born Millennial has to hold on to his new magic kingdom.

Of the project, Skroce said:

Maestros is a finely seasoned stew of everything I love about the fantasy and action adventure genres.  I tried to create a universe where all my beloved magical characters and settings might exist together, side by side. The protagonist, Willy Little, isn’t a chosen one; he’s granted ultimate power through blind luck—but can a nice guy stay nice when no one ever says ‘no’ to him again?

Maestros #1 is set for release at your local comic shop and digitally on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017. The final order cutoff date for comics retailers is Monday, September 25th. It can be pre-ordered with Diamond code AUG170542.
