UNBOXING! “Roger! Roger!” Smuggler’s Bounty Tackles A Droid Theme

by Christine Marie Attardo

Out of all of the subscription boxes that have been circulating over the past few years, Funko’s Smuggler’s Bounty is my favorite. (Disney Treasures is quickly climbing though–) The latest theme was DROIDS! What’s better than that? I did really enjoy the Death Star themed box. None the less, it’s time for the exciting part. What was inside? Take a look…

[WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!]

I laughed out loud at the droid featured on the pin. All I could hear was “Roger Roger!”

Two POP! Vinyl’s were featured in this one…

While I like R5-D4, I absolutely love Unfinished C-3P0! I like to call him “Naked C-3PO” because that’s what R2-D2 says to him in The Phantom Menace when they meet for the very first time. It’s one of the best moments from that movie, if not the only one.

The t-shirt featured in this box will appeal to fans of the new and the old as R2-D2 and BB-8 come together.

Next month’s Smuggler’s Bounty theme is “Jedi.” I like that they have young Obi-Wan pictured here. Perhaps that mean’s a POP! Vinyl of him? We shall see.

Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing what Funko will do with this box moving forward! Now, “Naked C-3PO” will sit on the desk at my day job and wait for more droid friends.
