SDCC ’17: Justice League Is All In With New Trailer

by Erik Amaya

Warner Bros’ Justice League made its promised appearance at Comic-Con International: San Diego Saturday with the cast and a new trailer.

Filled with slow-motion fighting and interesting character interactions, the trailer also suggests Earth has been chosen by Steppenwolf for a very specific reason. “There are no heroes, no lanterns,” he says. Fans of the DC Universe will take the term “lanterns” to mean something very specific. Just like how the previous trailer’s reference to “The Great Darkness” echos someone who looms large in DC history.

But the trailer also reveals the League working as a team and presenting themselves to Commissioner Gordon, who is not ready for the League. Well, neither is the Flash, come to think of it.

To be perfectly honest, I did not care for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And I see a lot of the same style on display. At the same time, I’ve waited my whole life for this movie and I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement to finally see the League together in a live action film.

Justice League opens on November 17th, 2017.
