As announced during San Diego Comic Con 2017, Dark Horse will be publishing a comic prequel to Frank Miller’s story The 300, originally a comic series that came to film as directed by Zack Snyder.

This prequel will be called Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander.

Alex Sinclair (Dark Knight III: The Master Race) will be joining Frank Miller as colorist on the series. Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander will launch in 2018.

The comic will follow the life of the historical King Xerxes, who rose to power in fifth-century-B.C. Persia and became known as “The King of Kings,” eventually raising and leading a massive army “intent on ruthlessly destroying the hated Greeks who killed his father”.

According to Dark Horse, “Xerxes seeks nothing less than to become a god himself—and achieves his wish!”

Look out for Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander in 2018.
