From Teen Henry To Adult Henry: Thoughts On The Relaunch Of Once Upon A Time

by Christine Marie Attardo

After six seasons of Once Upon a Time, ABC launches their 7th season with a big leap and a semi-new cast! Last week during SDCC, the Once Upon a Time crew met for a panel, but most of the familiar faces were missing…with an exception for Hook, played by Colin O’Donoghue, Rumple, played by Robert Carlyle, and Regina, played by Lana Parilla.

The rest of the cast for season 7 is new, new, new! Joined by newcomers, Dania Ramirez who will play Cinderella, Gabrielle Anwar who will play Lady Tremaine, and finally Andrew J. West who is the new Henry, contributed to the panel by sharing their excitement for Once Upon a Time’s next chapter.

I have all kinds of feelings regarding the relaunch. Sometimes I feel like every new season of Once Upon a Time has been a relaunch, but never one this drastic. They’ve been recycling the same cast members through all kinds of curses and magical tornadoes, but now we have a few new cast members to throw into the mix.

So, how do I feel about Henry’s switch? I’m not sure. Is it possible for the past to truly repeat itself and for the same exact thing that happened to his mother Emma, happen to him? I suppose. Take a look at the trailer to see for yourself…

…pretty interesting, huh? However, how will the Oncers keep it fresh and new? This might be a way:

That, I like. The rest remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time?
