Mimi Pond’s new book from Drawn & Quarterly, The Customer is Always Wrong, is getting a tour starting in mid-August and stretching all the way into November 2017.
Told in the same trademark “brash” style as her previous memoir Over Easy, The Customer is Always Wrong is the story of youthful artist Madge working in a restaurant of “charming drunks, junkies, thieves, and creeps”. Set in Oakland in the late seventies, Pond’s story details the “trials and tribulations of Madge’s daily grind” as a waitress at the Imperial Cafe.
