Admittedly, it’s still summer–well, if you ignore the great British weather, it is–but before we know it the leaves will be shedding their foliage and plants and animals will be curling up in preparation for their winter naps and the Fall will be here once again. And that means Hallowe’en!
Imported into the Colonies by us Celts, only to be commercialised and thrown back at us, it’s a great one day spooktacular and Humanoids will be marking this unholy holiday with a hardback anthology of three thrilling tales to terrify you entitled simply enough, Halloween Tales. Written by Olivier Boiscommun and Denis-Pierre Filippi with art by Boiscommun, we’re giving you a sneak peak here and now. Juts don’t read these pages in the dark, and on on your own.
As Humanoids says:
In Halloween, immerse yourself in the great book of the night. And if, at a street corner, you meet a ghost, take a walk with him. You may just recognize him — and if melancholy torments you — he could be the one to make you smile again.
Then, in The Book of Jack, braving a haunted house, young Jack discovers a mysterious book, a book that tells the story of his life. But what dark twists could others write into the blank pages that remain?
Finally, in The Story of Joe, a solitary boy finds refuge with the creatures of the night. But consumed by his imagination, he loses touch with reality and undergoes a strange transformation…
Halloween Tales from Humanoids will be available in shops and digitally form September 13th.
