Preview Kill Them All: Kyle Starks’ Love Letter To 90’s Action And John Woo Films

by Gary Catig

The Eisner nominated graphic novel Sexcastle was Kyle Starks’ ode to 80’s action films. Starks jumped a decade and created a love letter to 90’s action films with Kill Them All. The project started initially as a successful Kickstarter campaign, but Oni Press is republishing the work with fancy coloring by Luigi Anderson.

The republished version is out this Wednesday, September 27, and is about an ex-cop and a lethal assassin partnering up to take down a crime lord.  In order to do so, they must battle their way through fifteen floors filled with criminal low lifes. The plot reminds me of the action movie The Raid: Redemption, but since it’s Kyle Starks, there is probably more comedy involved. Below is the original description followed by a preview of the new graphic novel.

180+ pages of action and jokes from your Eisner Nominated baby boy, Kyle Starks. An ex-cop and the world’s most dangerous assassin are storming a crime boss’s building to kick all the butts. It’s a building full of butts and they’re kicking their way up it. It’s a reverse Die Hard! It’s early John Woo in comic form! It’s exciting and great!
