Last week brought the release of a new app from Pokemon International called, Pokemon Playhouse. After the success of Pokemon Go, it’s no surprise that they would try their hand at another app. Guess what? It looks absolutely adorable. Sadly, it’s not meant for us older fans of the franchise.
According to TechCrunch.com:
Unlike the augmented reality game Pokémon Go, a collaboration between Niantic and Nintendo by way of the Pokémon Company, this latest game is not focused on capturing Pokémon, battling and raids. Instead, it’s filled with activities appropriate for those ages 3 to 5 years old.
Now, as an adult…of course I had to try it for myself. Yeah, it’s a little bit TOO aimed for young kids for me to enjoy it. I have to say, if you’re familiar with the handheld Pokemon games that featured Pokemon-Amie, it’s not that far off.
I always liked that aspect of the game because it enhanced your friendship with your Pokemon, resulting in better battles. This obviously doesn’t have that component, but if you know any little nerds…have them check it out! Do you think this will lead to even more Pokemon related apps?
