The Halloween season is upon us folks and there is nothing better than curling up with a bowl of popcorn on these lovely fall nights to watch a Halloween movie. Sure, you can watch some scary stuff…but what about fun movies instead? Here are my Top 5 suggestions of not-so-spooky movies to watch this season.
One: Who doesn’t love the Disney channel classic Halloweentown? It’s a fun movie about a teenager who doesn’t know she’s a witch and desperately wants to be one. Her Grandma lives in Halloweentown and well…guess who ends up joining her there?
Two: Edward Scissorhands! Even though this movie doesn’t make any mention of Halloween, it’s definitely got a spooktackular feel to it. Can Edward fit in even though he has scissors for hands? This Tim Burton movie warms my heart every time I watch it.
Three: What’s more spooky and fun than a weird and quirky family? The Addams Family is a fun tale about a strange, unique group of people who have some dark interests. The storyline of the movie is intriguing and the cast is star-studded.
Four: It would be impossible to not mention Hocus Pocus in an article like this. The Sanderson Sisters come back from the dead to feast on the youth of children. Don’t worry….they just suck it out of them. This movie is a laugh out loud Halloween themed treat.
Five: It wouldn’t be Halloween without THE PUMPKIN KING! Yes, though the movie is called Nightmare Before Christmas, the primary setting is Halloweentown. Much different from the first one mentioned earlier…but equally as cool. Follow Jack Skellington as he searches for his greater purpose…
