To celebrate the current digital release and upcoming Blu-Ray and DVD release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment was on-site at New York Comic Con with a special experiential booth. The studio reconstructed Peter Parker’s bedroom paying very close attention to detail. Fans were able to enter and recreate the scene from the movie where Peter’s friend, Ned discovers he’s Spider-Man.
The booth also featured a Spider-Man: Homecoming VR experience, allowing fans to learn about the new Stark Enterprises web shooters and battle the Vulture. Attendees that pre-ordered the home video release on site also took home a limited edition Hero Complex poster.
Of course, I had to try out the booth myself. You can check that out below. In hindsight, I should have removed my lanyard as it kind of ruins the illusion.
As with the other experiential booths at NYCC this year, this Spider-Man: Homecoming booth was a blast. It was always mobbed so fans clearly dug it. The instant availability of the video offers a nice memento that gives you something more to take home than a handout.
