Big Hero 6 The Series Gets A Release Date On Disney XD

by Christine Marie Attardo

A few years ago, Disney released a fun film called Big Hero 6. I’m guessing, if you’re a fan of all things Disney, you probably fell in love with this guy…

Yes, Baymax won over the hearts of many and perhaps that’s why Big Hero 6 is getting it’s own series! We’ve been waiting for an official date for a while now and it’s finally arrived.

Here’s what Oh My Disney had to say:

…mark your calendars and set your alarms because on Monday, November 20 at 8 p.m., Big Hero 6 The Series is kicking off with a one-hour primetime television movie called “Baymax Returns”—simultaneously on Disney XD, Disney Channel, the DisneyNOW app, and Disney XD Video On Demand. Immediately following the movie, two special full-length preview episodes of Big Hero 6 The Series will debut exclusively on the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD VOD. We could not be more excited.

I think Disney is smart for developing a streaming app because that’s the only way certain people will be able to view new series like this, including myself. I cut the cable cord a long time ago. However, shows like this make me want to plug back in. Thankfully, it looks like with DisneyNOW that won’t be the case. This is the second movie turned TV show Disney has done recently. So far, the Tangled series has done pretty well too. I’m hoping we continue to travel this road.

When I was a kid, movies like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin had their own TV shows and they were the best. What do you think? Should Disney keep releasing media like this?
