Top Cow Productions has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the first printing of Stairway, a new original graphic novel from Matt Hawkins and Raffaele Ienco.
The 128 page graphic novel picks up with a genetic researcher who discovers information encoded in our DNA from millions of years ago. This includes schematics on how to build biological entities, advanced technologies, and other things we’re not yet capable of understanding. It’s a story about second chances, the cost of the pursuit of knowledge, the balance between work and family, and an exploration of what it means to be human.
Writer/Co-Creator Matt Hawkins says:
Stairway is the culmination of two years’ worth of research and work and in my humble opinion; this is my best work yet. The science class alone in this one took me five days to write!
The Kickstarter campaign’s rewards include the graphic novel itself in both print and digital formats, limited edition Top Cow 25th anniversary mini-lithos, buttons, and even the opportunity to contribute to a new anthology debuting next year. This is the publisher’s first writers’ room tier where writers will visit or Skype with the Top Cow office to workshop their original idea. The Stairway graphic novel will also feature a Kickstarter exclusive cover.
I’ve backed the last two Top Cow Kickstarter campaigns, including Golgotha, and they both overdelivered, so I was quick to back this one. It sounds like an awesome sci-fi story. You can back the Kickstarter campaign for yourself here.
