Nothing quite says Thanksgiving like your old pal Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and his merry band of mutants, do-gooders and assorted reprobates. Luckily, 20th Century Fox knew this as well and offers a Deadpool thanksgiving as the opening shot in their media blitz for the upcoming Deadpool 2.
The awkwardly Photoshoped faces of Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Dopinder (Karan Soni), Blind Al (Leslie Uggam) and Weasel (T.J. Miller) confirm their return, but they’re also joined by newcomers Domino (Zazie Beetz) and Cable (Josh Brolin). Oh, and you might spy a special cameo in the corner portrait.
I wonder how Cable cooks a Thanksgiving Turkey?
The film pairs Deadpool and Cable for a new mission that may make fun of the latter’s convoluted backstory and the ongoing shenanigans between Marvel and 20th Century Fox. It also means a new round of inventive and silly marketing stunts. Who can forget the 12 Days of Deadpool or Deadpool’s greeting to Australia on Australia Day? Or Wade’s informative videos about self-examination?
If they can build that momentum again, the marketing of Deadlpool 2 will be as entertaining as watching the film itself.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1st, 2018.
