Deathstroke Faces An Impossible Choice In A Preview Of Next Week’s Arrow

by Erik Amaya

Kane Wolfman (Liam Hall) — oh, that reference-laden name! — had a surprise ready for dear old dad Deathstroke (Manu Bennett). He’s the head of the most secretive band of hooligans to ever appear on Arrow. Somehow, even Helix didn’t know about them! But now that Slade knows the truth, and his son has captured Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), it’s time for Deathstroke to make an impossible choice. Or, at least as impossible as this preview of next week’s episode can make it seem.

I mean, we know Oliver pulls through because he has a role in the upcoming crossover. Instead, the interesting emotional component here is when Kane reveals to Slade that he saw him kill that guy in the woods during their camping trip fifteen years ago. Because, y’know, traumatic things like that lead to sons become founders of murderous mercenary organizations. Or buying black metal albums.

Kane’s appearance back in the comics started Deathstroke’s rise to infamy in the DC Universe. I wonder what it will do here.

Arrow airs Thursdays on The CW.
