Mon-El Returns In A Preview Of Next Week’s Supergirl

by Erik Amaya

Everyone’s favorite love interest is back as Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) discovers the whereabouts of Mon-El (Chris Wood.) Or, at least, someone who looks like him and has his memories. But as seen in this preview of next week’s episode, his action suggest he may not be the Prince of Daxam returned.

I’ve never been shy about my love for Mon-El, but I’m kind of hoping this is a ruse and the character turns out to be an android duplicate or something. When he really comes back, he should be in costume and backed by the Legion of Superheroes. And since we know they’re on their way, this feels like a bit of a misdirection. Also, with this week’s episode, it seemed Kara finally turned a corner in her heartbreak over him. I’d rather see her progress further at this point than be reunited with him this easily. That said, if Mon-El is definitely back this early in the game, I won’t object. It might even be fun to see him meet the rest of the heroes during the Crisis on Earth-X crossover.

Supergirl airs Mondays on The CW.
