Grodd Becomes A Power During The Vietnam War In A Preview Of Next Week’s Legends of Tomorrow

by Erik Amaya

In next week’s Legends of Tomorrow, the team heads for Vietnam during the height of the conflict to deal with yet another time anomaly. Unfortunately, the anomaly is the one and only Gorilla Grodd, who’s clearly watched Apocalypse Now too many times and is ready to go full Colonel Kurtz on a group of resistance fighters.

Or, at least, that’s what this preview suggests. It’s also possible Grodd just wants the adoration he always craves and will take it from a Vietnamese village tired of the other military presences in the region. Granted, that was Kurtz’s play, too. But by the time Willard got to him, things had taken a despotic turn. Grodd has those tendencies as well, so it will be interesting to see if any of the Legends can talk him into a more peaceful solution.

Alternatively, he may just end up joining Mallus’s Legion of Doom.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays on The CW.
