Ethan Young is the creator of the semi-autobio comic Tails, which he published online originally as one of the first self-sustained webcomics around, and then in print. He followed with creator owned works A Piggy’s Tail with Tod Emko, which benefits an animal charity, and the multi award-winning history-based graphic novel Nanjing: A Burning City.
The latter was published by Dark Horse, and Young moved on to create a YA graphic novel The Battles of Bridget Lee: Invasion of Farfall, which had the potential to become a series.
Now, Dark Horse has announced not only a sequel to Bridget Lee, but that they have picked up Young’s semi-autobio work Tails for an omnibus edition.
Life Between Panels: The Complete Tails Omnibus features Ethan’s life as one of the many cartoonists living in NYC, living with his parents, working a day job, and playing with cats. But the tables turn when he starts to draw his comic strip Crusader Cat and the lines between reality and comics blend.
In The Battles of Bridget Lee Volume 2: The Miracle Child a “legendary hero in a sci-fi dystopian future must fight to protect a symbol of hope for humanity and an alien race before the Marauders can destroy it!”
Ethan Young is one of the most interesting cartoonists working today for the fresh feel of his linework as well as the breadth he brings to emotive storytelling. Both of these books are bound to be a joy to read, so look out for their release dates in April and May 2018.
