It seems that the revival of old TV shows is becoming a common theme these days, and for some it’s an exciting series of events. I myself have been thrilled at the revival of certain childhood favorites. A few days ago, the internet exploded with talk of NBC’s comedy, The Office.
TV Line reported:
The news is nowhere near confirmed, but sources tell TV Line that the network is considering a return to the Dunder Mifflin Scranton, PA branch for the 2018 – 2019 TV season. According to its report, the series will focus on a mix of old and new characters as they work to sell paper for the company.
But is it too soon? The Office ended on May 16, 2013, more than four years ago. Has enough time passed for a revival? There aren’t any confirmed cast returning, but people are almost 100% certain that Michael Scott won’t be part of it.
Some might argue that the series wasn’t half as good when he left. Could you possibly imagine the show without some of the other cast too? To me, the location of Dunder Mifflin just isn’t enough. It was never the setting that made the show amazing. It certainly helped. However, if we are being honest, it was the cast that brought the real laughter into the picture.
I personally don’t think enough time has passed to bring back the show, but I’m sure that would send die-hard fans reeling. I suppose time will tell. Because nothing is confirmed, we’ll have to wait and see how the story unfolds.
