Ian McDiarmid Returns As Emperor Palpatine For Final Star Wars Rebels Episodes

by Erik Amaya

Star Wars Rebels is nearly over. And as the Rebellion comes into focus, the Emperor emerges from the shadows for one thing: Ezra Bridger.

Or, at least, that’s what this trailer for the final episodes of series indicates. Original Emperor actor Ian McDiarmid reprises his role as Sheev Palpatine for the climatic ending of Ezra’s story which has come so far since his early days on Lothal. The rest of the cast — which includes Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex, David Oyelowo as Kallus, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as Governor Pryce, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Warwick Davis as Rukh — also return for what looks to be the biggest drama the show will ever stage.

As with the first half of the season, Rebels will air two episodes each Monday starting February 19th. Which means we’ll have just three short weeks remaining with the crew of the Ghost before their story becomes history.

Star Wars Rebels returns February 19th on Disney XD.
