Fear Agent Returns To Print With Image Comics

by James Ferguson

Every so often I’m reminded that there are a ton of comics out there that I haven’t read yet. Fortunately, with the advent of digital and reprintings, I can catch up. That is my plan for April as Image Comics has announced its bringing Fear Agent back to print in new master edition trade paperbacks.

Each volume of the sci-fi odyssey series from Rick Remender, Tony Moore, and Jerome Opeña will collect ten issues and include never-before-seen scripts, variant covers, designs, and concept art.

Fear Agent: Final Edition, Volume 1 is the first trade paperback, scheduled for release this April, featuring the whiskey-soaked, laser-scorched life of Heath Huston, the galaxy’s last hope.

Rick Remender says:

I chronicled the hardest ten years of my life through Heath Huston and his drunken plight to save eternity and couldn’t be more excited to share our love letter to EC Comics with a new audience. The series is drenched in love from Tony Moore, Jerome Opeña and some of the best artists in the world.

Tony Moore adds:

Rick and Jerome are the collaborators of a lifetime, and we all poured our blood, sweat, and tears into these pages, sometimes literally. This series was a hard-fought labor of love for the genre and the pantheon of mid-century comicbook titans who continue to inspire us the most, and I personally could not be more proud of it.

Jerome Opeña reflects:

Working on Fear Agent was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in comics and it’s great to see the book get the recognition it deserves all these years later. I’m eternally grateful to Rick and Tony for inviting me along to collaborate with them and it’s an honor to have my name associated with the book in any way.

I’ve been a huge fan of Remender’s current work like Deadly Class and Low, so I’m excited to get the chance to read some of his earlier comics. With Moore and Opeña on artwork, I’m even more pumped to check out Fear Agent.

The first volume is set for release on Wednesday, April 25th. The final order cutoff for comics retailers is Monday, March 12th. It hits bookstores on Tuesday, May 1st and is already available for pre-order on Amazon.
