“Higitus Figitus”: A Sword In The Stone Live Action Film Is On The Way

by Christine Marie Attardo

Add another to the list! Disney has confirmed a director for another live action film. As of today we have several live action versions of classic animated Disney tales such as Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. We have Aladdin and The Lion King to look forward to and now The Sword in the Stone. A few days ago it was announced that the film will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. His prior experience is directing a movie called 28 Days Later. So, now you must be wondering…what about the script?

Empire Movies shared:

Game Of Thrones veteran Bryan Cogman has been sticking with swordplay to write the script for the new movie, which like the original, will loosely draw from T. H. White’s novel, which became a part of the multi-book Arthurian series The Once And Future King.

Well, if a writer who was involved in Game of Thrones is on board, then so am I. That’s an easy decision. The original animated Sword in the Stone is definitely one of my favorite movies. I would love to think that the live-action movie would be just as good, if not better. A lot of my opinion will probably rest on who will play Merlin as he is such an important, fun part of the film.

My vote is for Colin Farrell to grow a beard and do it. What do you think? Keep your eyes peeled for more news regarding the live-action Sword in the Stone.
