Purity Calls Out Supergirl’s Pain In A Preview Of Next Week’s Episode

by Erik Amaya

While Kara (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Lena (Katie McGrath) are now aware of Sam’s (Odette Annable) memory loss, they are still unaware why it is happening. And considering how easily Alex drew Sam’s blood for lab work, it’s easy to see why. No one would ever suspect Sam is the big bad who put Kara in a coma.

But Reign is not the only World Killer on Earth, and as this preview of next week’s episode shows, Supergirl and the DEO will encounter the World Killer known as Purity (Krys Marshall). And it seems she has a few things to say about Kara’s state of mind.

It’s interesting how the show handles Kara’s grief. It has yet to be resolved; which is shockingly realistic for a network series. It’s also a useful way to make Supergirl’s conflict more emotionally resonant. But how is it that Purity so easily defined Kara’s pain? And why did Kara dream about Purity in this week’s episode? Time of course will tell.

Supergirl airs Mondays on The CW.
