The incarceration of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is not one of the greatest plots The Flash has attempted in its four year history, but it leads to things like Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) stepping up and becoming the Elongated Man, Harry (Tom Cavanagh) admitting to his insecurities with the DeVoe situation, and Big Sir (Bill Goldberg) rediscovering hope. Perhaps that’s the point of the story even if it means Barry is shunted to the sidelines.
But as this preview of next week’s episode reveals, Barry is thrust back to the center of the action as the warden of Iron Heights puts him in a situation reminiscent of the film Lock Up. Well, once you accept the presence of Amunet (Katee Sackhoff) and the other Bus Metas.
I don’t suppose it’s much of a surprise that Warden Wolfe (Richard Brooks) has been on the take this whole time. He’s definitely had the air of villainy about him since Barry first landed in the joint. I wonder if Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) will be able to detect it now that the pregnancy has given her telepathy? And since we’re asking questions, is putting Barry in Amunet’s stable also part of DeVoe’s plan?
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
