IDW is set to launch a new Dungeons & Dragons comic this April helmed by writer Jim Zub (Glitterbomb) and a group of artists that would have any orc or troll shake in their boots, such as Dean Kotz (Charmed Season 9), Steven Cummings (Wayward), Harvey Tolibao (Green Arrow), Ramon Bachs (X-Men), and Francesco Mortarino (Jupiter’s Circle). Rounding out the stellar art team is Max Dunbar (Gears of War) who returns to the world of D&D to provide covers, with the first wraparound cover gracing this very post.
The name of this new book? Dungeons and Dragons: Evil at Baldur’s Gate.
The continuing adventures of Baldur Gate’s cast of characters featured win previous comic book series will be tackled by a different artists in each issue, an approach I really liked in DC Comics’ recent Kamadi Challenge.
Dungeons & Dragons sparked a lifelong desire to create stories in me that’s never really gone away. Dungeons & Dragons is all about exploration and engaging the unknown that lurks around every corner. I love the feeling of exploration that sword & sorcery stories provide. Evil At Baldur’s Gate is our fourth D&D mini-series with this cast and is a great way to jump on board and join in the adventure!
Here’s our full description for the first issue:
The Baldur’s Gate heroes return to the city at last, but their time adventuring in Ravenloft and the frozen northern reaches of the Realms has changed them. Each of them must face great trials ahead before they’ll be ready to embrace their destiny. Minsc, Krydle & Shandie, Delina, Nerys Kathon, and Boo will all take center stage throughout this series. While it does continue Zub’s run on D&D, each story is self-contained and so fans can jump on board anywhere and introduce themselves to this beloved cast of characters.
Expect Dungeons and Dragons: Evil at Baldur’s Gate #1 in April from IDW.
