Thursday’s Gotham Sees A Bat-Vision And An Open-Mic Night

by Erik Amaya

Gotham is back with its special brand of insanity and love for Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell). But in this preview of this Thursday’s episode, Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Bruce (David Mazouz) take center stage. It appears Penguin is forced to do 8 minutes of an open-mic routine while Ivy (Peyton List) offers Bruce a glimpse of his future: right down to hearing his bat-voice.

Hopefully there will still be plenty for Jim (Ben McKenzie) and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) to do. I enjoyed the focus on them this week. Well, the focus on Alfred anyway. Jim’s slide in moral dubious cop and poor detective is my favorite thing about the show week-in and week-out. But giving Alfred an interior life beyond caring for Master Bruce is a great idea.

Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing the rest of Bruce’s hallucination.

Gotham airs Thursdays on FOX.
