Hiding In Time To Become A Television Series

by Erik Amaya

Deadline reports MGM Television has optioned Christopher E. Long and Ryan Winn’s Hiding in Time with an eye towards developing a television series.

Published by Image Comics — though its Shadowline Comics imprint — the story centers on Abraham Smith, a participant in the US’s newest witness protection scheme: hiding state’s witnesses in history. Smith lives a peaceful life in colonial American until another witness turns up dead and the agency realizes their time-displaced witnesses are no longer safe. He is forced to decide whether or not to abandon his new life in 1774 and escape to a new time period.

The three issue series was previously optioned as a feature by Warner Bros. in 2008, but the film never materialized.

Long will serve as a co-executive produce, while Ray Miller and David Server will serve as producers. MGM Television’s Andrew Mittman and Lloyd Braun will serve as executive producers. It is unclear when and where the series will air, but fast turnarounds on comic book TV properties are becoming the norm.
