Punk, Leather And Aliens Dominate How To Talk To Girls At Parties Trailer

A24 has released a trailer for the upcoming film How to Talk to Girls At Parties. Based on Neil Gaiman’s 2006 short story, Elle Fanning stars as Zan, an alien who befriends a teen punk, Enn (Alex Sharp), in 1977. She has 48 hours to experience the human condition, but things go awry as they often do, leaving Zan and Enn to lead a punk rebellion. It’s a bit more than the singular party in Gaiman’s short story, but it could be fun; particularly with Hedwig and the Angry Inch‘s John Cameron Mitchell at the helm.

On the other hand, the film was not well received at Cannes. But Cameron Mitchell’s post-Hedwig work is always divisive in terms of quality. I’ve always taken the opinion that “quality” is too small of an idea for him.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties will be released sometime in the near future.
