The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released a photo from the set of the Netflix Sabrina series earlier today featuring our first look at star Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina and Ross Lynch as Sabrina’s beau Harvey Kinkle.

And yes, they are as “adorbs” as Aguirre-Sacasa suggests. It all seems nice and innocent, but the television show — based on the executive producer’s comic book series — takes Sabrina to a darker world inspired by 1960s horror movies and gothic romances.
Besides Shipka and Lynch, the series will feature the talents of Tati Gabrielle as Sabrina’s high school rival Prudence, Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis as Sabrina’s aunts Zelda and Hilda, Doctor Who‘s Michelle Gomez, as Sabrina’s mentor Mary Wardell, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s British cousin Ambrose, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker and Bronson Pinchot as nefarious Baxter High principle George Hawthorne.
Previously, the title of the show has been unclear. To Aguirre-Sacasa, it has always been “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” but Netflix and trade papers continue to refer to the program as an “Untitled Sabrina series.” It remains unclear if his favored title has finally won out. Whatever the show ends up being called, it is expected to debut later this year on Netflix.
