Britannia Returns In ‘Lost Eagles Of Rome’ By Milligan And Gill At Valiant

by Staff

In an announcement that will please many fans, Valiant has revealed that a new series of Britannia is coming up in July from Peter Milligan, who will be joined by artist Robert Gill in Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome.

In the new story, the Roman standard, is more than just a symbol of the soldiers that carry it, but it is a symbol of “Rome itself” but now, in the Germanic forest of Tottenwald, a barbarian horde has “crushed three of Rome’s most highly skilled detachments in battle… and captured their mighty Roman eagles”.

Antonius Axia, the empire’s finest “detectioner” and hero of Britannia, and Achillia, the sword-wielding champion of the gladiatorial arena, have been sent to reclaim the stolen standards. But as fans of Britannia know, the book is replete with unearthly elements, and Antonius and Achillia are going to face “unseen dimensions” here too.

The first issue of the new series will feature covers from Cary Nord (Conan the Barbarian), Brian Thies (Star Wars: Legacy), and David Mack (Kabuki).
