Every once and a while, you stumble upon a show that is completely binge worthy. Last weekend, after ignoring the hype for quite some time, I turned on the first episode of The Handmaid’s Tale. The show, another Hulu Original, quickly skyrocketed past my opinion of The Path. Within one episode, I was hooked and amazed that such a fantastic book adaptation could exist.
Originally written by Margaret Atwood, published in 1985, The Handmaid’s Tale is a dystopian story about a society that has a lot of twisted rules. It follows main character, Offred and her journey through the madness.

As I made my way through the entire ten episode first season, I was happy to see that I planned to binge watch it at the exact right time. The second season is right around the corner with an April 25th release date. I have watched the trailer for upcoming episodes about a hundred times at this point. I can’t wait to experience more of this world.
As an avid book reader, I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t read the novel, and now I am afraid to do so because I am so immersed in the visual representation. With that said, I’ll definitely be picking up a copy for my summer reading list.
