James Gunn Offers The Guardians Of The Galaxy’s New Ship A Name
by Erik Amaya
Since a lot was happening while Avengers: Infinity War unfolded, there was a barley a moment to reveal crucial details of the ship the Guardians of the Galaxy were using in the film. For those who thought it was the Milano, Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) ship in the first two Guardians movies, it is a very similar design. Also, the ship was being repaired even as the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 unfolded. But it is a new ship, and thanks to Guardians director James Gunn, we know what it is called.

In a subsequent post, he clarified that the Milano may return in Vol. 3, though he chose his words very carefully. He was more explicit about the lack of Pat Benatar music on either volume of the Awesome Mix, explaining that Peter’s mother would never have included, say, “Heartbreaker,” but it would never stop Peter from knowing about her.
Since Infinity War takes place sometime after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it is possible the Milano was restored and lost in a subsequent misadventure. Perhaps Vol. 3 will take place in that gulf of time.
