Amunet Returns In A Preview Of Next Week’s The Flash

by Erik Amaya

Considering things got particularly dark and sad this week on The Flash — even grimmer then things have been of late — it’s time to relieve some of the tension. And as this preview of next week’s episode indicates, it will be up to Amunet (Katee Sackhoff) to do the job.

Setting Amunet up as Iris’s (Candace Patton) version of Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) is an interesting idea, provided Sackhoff can pitch her very theatrical performance to Patton’s more naturalistic tone. But the preview seems divorced from the episode title, “Harry and the Harrisons,” which suggests Harry (Tom Cavanagh) will call upon the other versions of Harrisons Wells across the Multiverse for aid. That may also lead to comedy as the other Wells have proved to be a little unreliable.

Meanwhile, its nice to see the Cisco (Carlos Valdes)/Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) relationship resolved; even if it left both characters heartbroken. The show never really committed to them, just like it never committed to Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Jesse’s (Violett Beane) relationship; making break-ups inevitable. Maybe next year, Cisco will meet someone who will actually be a recurring character instead of a very irregular guest star.

The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
