After all the planning, stalling, bus metas, and Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) losing his life, Clifford DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) finally has his Enlightenment. The whole world will soon be like Harry (Tom Cavanagh); losing their intelligence and memories. But as this preview of next week’s season finale of The Flash indicates, Barry (Grant Gustin) will race through The Thinker’s mind in one last gambit to stop the stupefying of the world.
It’s a good thing the other Earth-1 CW shows will be concluded by the time this airs. Otherwise, there would be some tricky timing to deal with. Over on Arrow, stupefying Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevdeo) might actually help matters, but its season finale airs this week. Meanwhile, the Legends could pop in and help out Barry, but that seems unlikely as Arrow is using that saving throw to bring Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) home for the final push against that show’s lousy antagonist.
Meanwhile, this week’s episode of The Flash finally illustrated DeVoe formidable use of his bus meta powers in way he never really had before. If that DeVoe has shown up more often over the season, he would’ve been a better antagonist. But time will tell if Barry can finally appeal to DeVoe on his terms and reverse the Enlightenment.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
