Luke Cage Faces The Reality Of Being Harlem’s Defender In New Season 2 Clip

by Erik Amaya

While previous Luke Cage clips showed how much fun it can be to protect a neighborhood as a bulletproof superhero, the latest preview of Luke Cage‘s second season reveals the genuine difficulty in becoming a hero. Here, people on the street stop Luke (Mike Colter) and ask him to help with their troubles, second guess his choices and ask why Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) was able to kick his ass in highly publicized video (featured in the most recent trailer).

No one ever said being a Defender would be easy. And considering Luke appears to have embraced that identity more the others, the blowback will be more immediate and more cutting.

The second season sees Luke confronting Bushmaster while also facing the continued schemes of Mariah (Alfre Woodard) and a new threat posed by Rosalie Carbone (Annabella Sciorra), a dangerous downtown criminal underworld power player with an eye, and an agenda, toward Harlem. Simone Missick also returns as Misty Knight, the NYPD detective with a new cybernetic arm. Finn Jones is also set to appear as Iron Fist‘s Danny Rand; further cementing the friendship between the two Heroes for Hire.

Luke Cage returns to Netflix on June 22nd.
