First Look Images From Wonder Woman 1984 Reveal A Surprising Return

Warner Bros. Pictures just released a duo of images from their upcoming Wonder Woman sequel — which as of today will be named Wonder Woman 1984 — and it seems there is one surprising character from the first film returning to be part of the story.

According to Warner Bros., Chris Pine’s return is no relative, no dream, and no imaginary story. Pine will play Steve Trevor, the WWI spy who died to prevent a poison gas attack 100 years ago. Although, judging by his shoes, he could still be a descendant. The film also stars Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah and Pedro Pascal in as-yet undisclosed role.

Gal Gadot returns as Diana, the princess of the Amazons, who makes her way to the United States during the era of Ronald Regan, Dallas, Duran Duran, and Aqua Net. She will face the challenge of the Cheetah and, presumably, reunite with Steve in a tale which further separates Diana’s story from the one established in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Director Patty Jenkins also returns.

Wonder Woman 1984 opens on November 1, 2019.
