Cave Con Announces Exclusive Cold Spots Variant Cover

by Brendan M. Allen

Image Comics’ horror comic Cold Spots by Cullen Bunn and Mark Torres will be getting the exclusive treatment as part of Springfield Missouri’s inaugural Cave Con VIP Package.

An exclusive variant cover by Baldemar Rivas is being offered as part of the $100 VIP package. The package also includes admission for both convention days, an exclusive T-Shirt, and an exclusive enamel pin.

Rivas and Bunn will both be in attendance, so if you get one of these strictly limited variant copies, you’d likely be able to get one or both to put a Sharpie to it. Individuals who purchase VIP packages but do not attend the convention will be mailed all VIP materials (after the convention) and will be given the choice of having the copy of Cold Spots signed by Bunn and Rivas or not. VIP packages can be purchased online here.

Cave Con, sponsored by Springfield’s The Comic Cave, will be held on September 29th and 30th, 2018, at the University Plaza Convention Center. In addition to Cullen Bunn and Baldemar Rivas, the confirmed guest list already includes Brian Quinn (Impractical Jokers, Metro), Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night), Tyler Crook (Harrow County), Joe Lansdale (Hap & Leonard), Ryan Browne (God Hates Astronauts), and many others.

About Cold Spots:

Cold Spots is a tale of psychological terror, the undead, and a supernaturally bitter cold. 10 years ago, Dan Kerr turned his back on his wife and unborn daughter. Now, both mother and child have gone missing, and Dan must face cosmic terrors to find them again. He soon finds that ghosts stir when his estranged daughter is near. And as the dead grow restless, the cold deepens.

Brendan Allen has probably had more jobs than you would reasonably believe. Dog trainer? He’s done it. Flooring contractor? You bet! EMT? Army NBC specialist? Road dog for a Celtic rock band? Yes, yes, and och aye! Now he reads comics and writes about them. It's a rough gig.
