This week brings the official 20th anniversary of the very first Harry Potter book by the magical, J.K. Rowling. How many more editions can we own you ask? More. This one is particularly special. In fact, I think it might be my favorite edition since the original release. They are illustrated by self-proclaimed Harry Potter fanatic, Brian Selznick and fans are pretty happy about his work.
Selznick, a Caldecott Medal winner, drew some of the series’ most thrilling moments for the new book covers. When put side by side, the seven covers connect to create a mural, where Harry Potter fans can follow the story of the series’ beloved characters.
Now it’s time to stare at the covers for ten minutes like I did. Be sure to take note of all the details:

Stunning? Yes, I think so. I am a fan of the black and white sketchy style that the covers show, but it’s also nice to see major scenes from the books highlighted this way.
