Fans have been waiting for years and years for a sequel to Disney’s, Hocus Pocus. Now, we are finally getting it…in book form! This month brings the release of Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel which will include an original retelling of the movie and a story that takes place 25 years later.
Here’s the synopsis from Disney:
Shortly after moving from California to Salem, Max Dennison finds himself in hot water when he accidentally releases a coven of witches from the afterlife. Max, his sister, and his new friends (human and otherwise) must find a way to stop the witches from carrying out their evil plan and remaining on Earth to torment Salem for all eternity.
Twenty-five years later, Max and Allison’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all their sinister glory. When Halloween celebrations don’t quite go as planned, it’s a race against time as Poppy and her friends fight to save her family and all of Salem from the witches’ latest death-defying scheme.
You can read the excerpt on OH MY DISNEY. After I read it, I had goosebumps. I’m super excited about the release. I feel like they captured a new essence of the old characters and the witchy sisters will be just as entertaining to read as they were to watch on screen. With that said, I hope the sales of this book are phenomenal and lead to a movie sequel starring the original cast. We can dream, right?
Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel releases on July 10th, 2018.
