You Can’t Take The Sky From Boom! Lee Garbett’s Firefly #2 Variants Revealed

by James Ferguson

You might have thought Boom! Studios was done with the Firefly related announcements and revelations, but you’d be wrong. The publisher is keeping the Browncoat train running with our first look at the covers for Firefly #2 from artist Lee Garbett.

Firefly, written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Dan McDaid tells more stories from the popular and tragically short-lived show from 20th Century Fox. Creator Joss Whedon is serving as a story consultant for the book. The first arc tells the definitive story of the Unification War, the intergalactic civil war that divided friend and family alike.

Garbett is the regular cover artist for Firefly. This issue will also feature a rare inks-only version of his cover.

Jeanine Schaefer, Executive Editor at Boom! Studios says:

From the minute we received this cover, we knew Lee had created something instantly iconic. It’s the pure distillation of both Firefly and Mal: style, danger, and a little bit of cheek…a perfect package for the story where you’ll learn just how he became the man we know and love, and sometimes love to hate.

Firefly #2 is due out in December 2018. It will also feature variant covers by Marguerite Sauvage and Joe Quinones.
